One afternoon, every kind of fun

Our coaches and Warrior families go all out. Every trunk is decorated and handing out candy, and there is more going on than the trunks.

Safe trunk or treating

One closed lot, decorated trunks in a row, and our coaches on site the whole time.

Costume contest

Wear your costume. Winners get called up at the tent.

Raffles

Enter at the tent. Winners are called during the event.

Run by our coaches, right next to the trunks.

Trunk decoration volunteers

Best trunk wins$100

Our volunteers decorate their trunks, hand out the candy, and make this whole event happen. The kids vote, and the winning trunk takes home $100 and the trophy.

  • Bring 4 large bags of candyWe hand out extra candy during the event.

  • You get a numberKids vote for their favorite. Winner announced around 3:00.

Local businesses and organizations

Host a trunk, sponsor, or both

We're looking for local businesses to host a trunk and sponsor the event. A trunk spot is free and your business name goes on your trunk sign. Sponsor packages start at $150 and put your name or logo on the sponsor board and this website.

  • No vendor feeBring a trunk, candy, and whatever you want families to take home: flyers, coupons, samples, swag.
  • Over 1,300 people last year295 families with 676 kids and 657 adults signed up for 2025, over 1,550 families have come since 2021, and the 2025 ads reached 42,000 people nearby.
  • Your name on the signThe kids vote by trunk number, and your printed sign carries your business name.

Good to know

Do I have to be a Warrior member?

No. It is free and open to every family in and around Dunellen.

What if my half hour is full?

Pick another open time. If every group is full, join the waitlist and we will text you if a spot opens up.

Can I come outside my half hour?

Please come inside your half hour so the line stays short for everyone. Arriving a few minutes early is fine.

Where do I park?

The back lot is for the decorated trunks only. Please park on the street and walk in.

Is it stroller friendly?

Yes. It is all one flat parking lot.

What if it rains?

If the weather turns, we text everyone on the list with the plan. That is the main reason we ask for your cell number.

How do I check in?

Show the text we send you, or the ticket on your phone, at the tent when you arrive.

Can my business or organization take part?

Yes. Local businesses and community groups can decorate a trunk for free and hand out candy with their flyers or samples, or sponsor the event starting at $150. Apply at dunellentrunkortreat.com/vendors.
